When my son was just a toddler (he’s six now), I was looking for an advertisement-free magazine for my oldest when I happened upon Babybug Magazine. I’m so glad I did!

Every month, my son and I looked forward to picking up the adventures of Kim and Carrots, along with gentle rhymes, easy-to-follow stories and sweet illustrations. Each issue was printed on heavyweight cardstock — in fact, once my son was old enough for Cricket’s next magazine stage (he subscribes to Click now) we were able to pass his whole set on to a family friend.
Babybug is a great example of a new discovery that became an instant classic at our house. Here are more new classic children’s books from some well-read bloggers!
